Door Direction Pattern table

This table describes how N4 models container door direction relative to the value you set for Door Direction in the Yard Sections form (on page 1). N4 uses the pattern that you select and the Direction of the entire block to compute a cardinal (N, S, E, W) door direction for the specific UFV.

Table: Door Direction Patterns (For Yard Sections form)

Value

Description

EITHER

Indicates that no door direction restriction applies. This is the default value.

ALT1

Defines an area with towers and sets the container door direction in the opposite direction of its tower. N4 uses its logical number scheme, places a tower at the logical spot number 2, and adds a tower at every third spot to the end.

ALT2

Defines an area with towers, and sets the container door direction in the same direction as its tower. XPS uses its logical number scheme, places a tower at the logical spot number 1, and adds a tower at every third spot to the end. ALT2 is appropriate for terminals with an inspection area and where inspectors must have access to the contents of the containers (doors on the outside of a pair of containers).

ALT2 is appropriate for terminals where there is an inspection area and inspectors must have access to the contents of the containers (doors on the outside of a pair of containers).

EVEN

Places the containers in even-numbered logical slots so that the door faces the next stack up (ascending logical number). This setting also sets the doors for containers in odd slots to face the next slot down (descending logical number).

ODD

Places the containers in odd-numbered logical slots so that the door faces the next stack up (ascending logical number). This setting also sets the doors for containers in even slots to face the next slot down (descending logical number).

OPPOSITE

All containers in the specified row(s) are by default positioned with door sides facing opposite the direction of the block set in the Display tab (on page 1) of the Stack Block form (in other words, positioned with door sides facing the adjacent slot with the logical, descending number).

SAME

All containers in the specified row(s) are by default positioned with door sides facing the same direction of the block set in the Display tab (on page 1) of the Stack Block form (in other words, positioned with door sides facing the adjacent slot with the logical, ascending number).
